Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use zika.care or join the Zika Care waitlist. They form an agreement between you and Zika Care. By using the site you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

2. The waitlist

• Joining is free. You must be 18 or over and give an email address you control.
• A place on the waitlist doesn’t oblige you to buy anything, and doesn’t oblige us to offer the service to you, in your country or language, at any particular time or price.
• We open country by country and language by language. We may prioritise based on where people are waiting and where we can meet our own safety standards.
• You can leave at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to privacy@zika.care.

3. What's on this site

The site describes a service that is being built. Features, languages, countries and prices may change before launch, and some features described may not be available everywhere. The binding description will be the one in the service terms you receive before paying.

The example calls are dramatised. Kamala, Ravi, Rosa, Florence and everyone else in them are fictional. Every voice is synthetic and designed from a description, not copied from a real person. The photographs are AI-generated illustrations of fictional people. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental.

4. Not an emergency, medical or professional service

Nothing on this site is medical, legal or financial advice. Zika Care does not diagnose, does not monitor anyone continuously and does not dispatch emergency services. Please read Safety & limits before relying on it for anything. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.

5. Using the site properly

Please don’t:

• sign someone else up for the waitlist without their permission, or use an address that isn’t yours;
• try to break, overload, scrape or probe the site or its forms, except through responsible disclosure to safety@zika.care;
• use the site to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.

6. Our content and brand

The site, its text, design, recordings, images and the Zika Care name and mark belong to us or our licensors. You may share links and quote short passages with attribution. Journalists may use the files on our press page under the guidance there. Anything else needs our written permission.

7. The paid service

If you later subscribe, separate service terms will apply. We’ll give them to you in full, together with the list of things the service can’t do, before you pay. Those terms will say how cancellation, refunds, the older person’s rights and the end of the service work. Our current intentions for refunds are on our Refund Policy.

8. Liability

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be error-free or online. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, and our total liability in connection with the site and waitlist is limited to 100 units of your local currency.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. We may close the waitlist or the site. If we close the waitlist without launching in your country, we’ll tell you and delete your details.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Zika Care is incorporated. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please write to legal@zika.care first — we’d much rather sort it out.
